About This Effect
Based on Jared Tarbell's Substrate algorithm. Cracks grow from random seed points, branching when they encounter existing cracks. Grey lines accumulate on a persistent buffer.
The effect cycles through growth and fade phases. Cyan dots mark crack tips during growth. A DOM overlay handles the fade transition between generations.
